Computer Center Inaugurated at Keezhkodungalur

Eureka Computer Center inauguration program was held on 30th July 08 at the Govt. Higher Secondary school of Keezkodungalur village in Vandavasi block. Mr. Sampath, school headmaster preceded over the program. The disctrict CEO, Mr. Vai Balamurugan inaugurated the Computer Center. Mr. Paramasivam, Computer Program Co-ordinator, Ms.Gowri, Project Manager, Mr. Murugesh, District Co-ordinator and Mr.M Abdul Majeeth, Assistant District Co-ordinator, organized the function. Mr. AE Ishak, Secretary of Valarum Vanthavasi Trust and R. Sivakumar, Volunteer were the special guests for the function. State Resource Persons S. Uma Shankar, M. Kumaran, K. Parvathi were the other participants.

Eureka Child has provided 5 computers to the Keezkodungalur Govt. Higher Secondary School. Eureka Child also provides training to the faculty of the center, distributes study materials to children, and does evaluation and monitoring of the children on a monthly basis.

Eureka Scholarship Program

Eureka Scholarship program held on 16th March 2008 at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Vandavasi in Thiruvannamalai district. In this program scholarship was given to 61 students studying from 6th STD to college level. Thiruvannamalai district Lions Club President Mr. Narayanamurthy distributed the scholarships to the students and gave a speech.

Children's Day Celebrations

Children's Day was celebrated in TM school at Ketavarampallayam in Kalambakkam Union of Thiruvannamalai district. A folk program based on the songs written by the Principal E. Edwin and vice principal Vijaysmily to educate about the “Padippum Innikkum” program was held. Everybody enjoyed the programme and appreciated.

Children’s day celebrations were conducted in Kalasapakkam, Arni, Polur, Pudupalayam, Thiruvannamalai and Vandavasi of the Thiruvannamalai district. Particularly the children’s day celebrations by the Srilankan refugee camp held in Kalasapakkam union’s South Pallipattu village. Various games and competitions were conducted and winners were awarded with prizes.

A Book Fair was conducted by Eureka Books at both Vandavasi union Corporation girl’s high school and Keezhkodungalur Corporation Boys high school. Mr. MS. Tharanivendan inaugurated the book fair at Vandavasi corporation girl’s high school. Mr. Sivakumar, Eureka Book’s assistant chief of the scholarship scheme, and Mr. Ishaq, team co-ordinator from Vandavasi initiated the first sales in the fair. The positive perspective in reading by the "Padippum Innikum" programme in the district has attracted the Green Park Matriculation School at Vandavasi.

PI Program at Srilankan Camp

Padippum Inikkum Program was inaugurated on 30th Oct 2007 at Thenpallipattu Srilankan Refugees Camp in Thiruvannamalai District, which is a 100% literacy camp among the camps in the district. Also the students of this camp have improved their skills by involving themselves in activities like students learning centers, evening classes, library maintenance and playing groups.
