‘Tamil Vasippu Chandai’ (Tamil Reading Market)

‘Tamil Vasippu Chandai’ (Tamil Reading Market) Program was conducted in Mar 08 in Ulagam Village, Soolagiri block of Krishnagiri District. As the name denotes, like markets, there were lots of stalls with Sentence Cards and a Reading Bank with lots of reading materials like story cards, sentence cards, para cards etc. Once the resource persons entered into the village to implement this program, lot of adults and children joined with them. Everybody was excited with this new reading market. Once the market was set, children rushed into the stalls and started reading the sentences. If they could read the cards fluently, the cards were given to them. After reading cards in all stalls, para cards or story cards were gifted to children from the Reading Bank.
