Update from Dharmendra to Oliver on phone
  • At Jabiya bazaar in Subaol, many people were sheltered at a house of Vimal Agarwal where 3 pregnant women found to be suffering from pain and there was an urgent need for doctor. Then it was Dharmendra, who made arrangements to reach doctor by contacting the Subaol control.

  • For the first time, a team of doctors went to Kamp for providing medical aid, where 80% of the people belonged to SC/ST community.

  • Balwa Bazaar is one of the most flood affected area (125km long), where the people received food packets from the Helicopter. But this was stopped 4 days back and people were advised to move to their villages. People felt difficult and hesitated to go back to their villages, because their villages had not seen any recovery and relief measures and the village was unfit for human endurance.

  • AID INDIA has been running a relief camp at the hospital grounds at Koripatti of the Thiruveniganj block. Relief work is going on in full fledge in Manganj, Koripatti, Jadiya, Rajgaon and Herapatti. People from Rajeshwari, Samuaha, Sanjara of Chatapur block are also getting relief.

  • AID INDIA has reached the following flood affected areas: Phoolgaha, Ghelarah, Hasanpur, Ranipokar, Gamhariya, Satarkottiya, Silet, Sheetalpatti and Kamp through mobile hospitals.

  • In Beldaur block of Khagadia district the following villages Bholadastola, Agha, Siswa, Bankesingwasa, Birgat, Bobhil, Keharmandal, Mansitola have been receiving all type of AID INDIA relief work.

  • Our next plan: 346 children (0 - 1 yr) in Bankesigwasa, Paterwa and Veerghat will be provided milk for the next one week.

PRATHAM Team updates:

  • Pratham teams's service has been reached in Thoarbazar and Madepura districts.
  • The team has visited 4 mega relief camps and started conducted their regular activities for relief.
  • Future plans of the team are to establish their work in more areas through Read India Cards.
  • With the help of Goonj, Pratham team distributed 250 food packets in bajanpatti on 15th. 300 food packets were distributed in Vishanpur on 16th.

And there is an emergency need for:

  1. Tarpaulin (plastic sheet) - which can be used either as roof or for flooring.
  2. Clothes
  3. Vessels (any kind)
